Diversity of the world’s population The WritePass Journal

Decent variety of the world’s populace Presentation Decent variety of the world’s populace IntroductionTranscultural NursingThe Culture Care Diversity and Universality Theory by Madeleine LeiningerThe Sunrise EnablerThe Ethno-nursing MethodHolistic Nursing PracticeThe Theory of Environmental Adaptation by Florence NightingaleTranscultural Nursing versus Comprehensive Nursing PracticeConclusionRelated Presentation Decent variety of the world’s populace has arrived at a point where it is indispensable to deliver and all the more critically to comprehend, the consistently developing test that transcultural nursing postures to the nursing calling. Tending to this issue maintains a strategic distance from separation and advances balance inside all encompassing nursing practice so as to address patients’ issues. Human services experts ought to be able to convey, consistently, capable consideration and delicate talented correspondence to socially various people (Maier-Lorentz, 2008). To practice proficient nursing in a calculated manner all encompassing nursing care centers around physical, passionate, social, ecological and otherworldly angles just as on the possibility that any individual engaged with treatment care ought to be treated all in all and with nobility (Dossey Guzzetta, 2005). One of the zones to be talked about is Transcultural Nursing and Leininger’s Transcultural Theory of Culture Care Diversity and Universality and its exploration empowering agents: the Sunrise Enabler and the Ethnonursing Method. Another region will be Holistic Nursing Practice and Nightingale’s Nursing Theory of Environmental Adaptation just as the contact between Transcultural Nursing and Holistic Nursing Practice. Nightingale’s hypothesis has been picked over others since she was the first to recognize nurses’ work in a hypothetical system and furthermore on the grounds that she was viewed as the mother of nursing rehearses (Ellis, 2008). The improvement of culture care hypothesis brought social insurance experts into another nursing measurement shaped by issues, for example, culture foundation, otherworldliness, condition and others that showed how culture and medicinal services are connected (Leininger, 2002a). Comprehensive Nursing Practice empowers dynamic correspondence and proportional comprehension, underlines the activity of physiological and psychosocial mindfulness, it depends on coherent reasoning and supports esteems, for example, self-governance and patient wishes and inclinations (MacKinnon, 2010). Transcultural Nursing Transcultural nursing might be characterized as a technique to differentiate and see how people see medicinal services, one-sided by their way of life foundation. The standards of rehearsing transcultural nursing are to give total nursing care to people or gatherings by approaching them with deference and considering their social variables. It is tied in with nursing practice applied to social qualities and confinements (Leininger, 1991). Meanings of transcultural nursing join numerous elements that shape the individual’s social direction. These incorporate are age, sexual direction and monetary angles. It has been recommended that by overlooking these culture foundation factors, social insurance experts don't accomplish enough social experience to be consolidated in comprehensive nursing practice (Barnes et al. 2000). This nonattendance may prompt dangerous nursing care and both disappointed patients and experts (Curren, 2006 refered to in Leininger McFarland, 2006, pp.159-160). To advance transcultural nursing care, Narayan (2001) felt that there are four pivotal perspectives to expect mindful, compassion, transparency and adaptability. This shows the patients a social getting, thankfulness, thought and eagerness from human services experts that depend on singular consideration. Social instruction and the making of socially equipped consideration experts are perhaps the greatest test yet to handle around the world. For example, in America, as the vagrant populace increments strikingly so it does the requirement for lessening imbalances and hindrances, for example, language. Maier-Lorentz (2008) immovably comprehended that such a need could be met by the focusing of bilingual social insurance experts originating from various foundations. Besides, she recommended that so as to give socially skilled nursing care, some information on non-vocal correspondence signs could be of extraordinary worth, for what it's worth in eye to eye connection, contact, quiet, space and separation, and medicinal services propensities. Green-Hernandez (2004) suggested that as a stage towards multicultural competency, experts that need to manage ranchers ought to acclimate themselves with their particular traditions, for example, utilizing animal prescription for their own conditions as an outcome of living far away from the consideration organizations. To get culture, Andrews Boyle (1997) gave out differing representations. For instance, they recommended that by understanding a people’s precepts, experts may get a handle on information on the social qualities shared by that populace. The creators likewise focused on the significance of culture information when running over two distinct approaches to see taking. For one culture it may not be satisfactory though for another, for example rover individuals, it might be alright, as long as it is originating from a superior off individual. Besides, they additionally found, through analysts, that various societies may feel that by being a requesting understanding, the treatment they get may improve. Riley (2004) announced that a first test for attendants in an ethnically unique society is correspondence. Words as well as tone and volume structure spoken correspondence which in various societies varies significantly. For instance, Thai individuals are viewed as not going on and on as they trust it is an indication of stupidity though Cuban individuals are content with talking vociferously. He likewise called attention to that Europeans are not scared of discussing feelings while Asians are reluctant to do as such. Concerning correspondence without words Riley (2004) clarified that eye to eye connection isn't constantly anticipated. For cases, in Native America and Asian societies it is hostile and among Muslim Arab ladies it is permitted distinctly to their spouses. Along these lines, he recognized the significance for human services experts to be socially mindful. Phillimore (2011) investigated the test of arrangement of assorted variety needs in the UK dependent on considers done on medicinal services administration arrangement to new transients, during 2007/08 in Birmingham. She expressed that with political powers needing to diminish government assistance support for new transients, such arrangement turns out to be a significant test. She additionally accepted that, over the long haul, this dismissing of medicinal services needs will prompt further issues for the human services framework that in any case could be maintained a strategic distance from by simply giving what is required now: social and language administrations and wellbeing support. It was likewise proposed that in today’s political atmosphere offering of ethnically explicit arrangement by the network and for the network, brings about the nearby needs not being met, as the current GP frameworks are now overstretched. She presumed that various transients are sentenced to an unwelcoming future since UK appears to grasp a propensity of against vagrant conclusion and a transition to network establishment rather than multicultural arrangement (Phillimore, 2011). The Culture Care Diversity and Universality Theory by Madeleine Leininger In the 1950’s Madeleine Leininger, a medical attendant anthropologist, understood that nursing practice was requiring a hypothesis to permit individuals to change nursing into a further developed and valuable control that moves medical attendants to open up to social assortment and all inclusiveness (Leininger, 2006). This was created as a reaction to the interest for multicultural consideration which was huge but fragmented the same number of social insurance frameworks didn't think about the requirement for uniting society and nursing care (Giger Davidhizar, 2008). The way of life care decent variety and all inclusiveness hypothesis created by Leininger in 1991 (Leininger, 2002a) is one of a kind in that it centers around able consideration, can be utilized upon any culture and is put together with respect to people as well as gatherings and families as well. The hypothesis tends to the significance of a reliable social capability instrument to gain social mindfulness through a steady learning disposition and endorsement towards human contrasts and rights by medicinal services experts (Burford, 2001, refered to in Baxter, 2001, pp. 202-203). Leininger (2002a) demanded the significance of transcultural information as an instrument to maintain a strategic distance from human acts, for example, the occasion of September 11, 2001. She at that point proposed the way of life care hypothesis as the most all encompassing way to deal with step by step change the wellbeing framework. This truly necessary change requires comprehension of people in manners that recognize and regard their social foundation and will lead us to see such transcultural consternation. The hypothesis was utilized in an examination among Hispanic home consideration patients in the US, 2007, so as to distinguish social needs. Subsequently, care conveyance improved in certain zones and there was a recommendation portraying the utilization of the model as an apparatus to decrease costs in the medicinal services framework (Woerner et al. 2009). Leininger’s hypothesis applies not exclusively to races from various foundations yet in addition to today’s disputable gatherings, for example, transgendered individuals, handicapped individuals , the adolescent, neediness and the destitute that may represent a specific level of trouble of comprehension to human services experts. There is additionally an understanding that, because of Leininger’s culture care hypothesis, the nursing calling today realizes how to take into account culture when taking care of people and has a broadly spreadâ caring way of thinking in clinics (Clarke et al. 2009). For this model to help the social insurance expert to comprehend factors as significant as the board and arrangements, just as having the option to ponder their choices and activities, Leininger planned two

Task Mercury was done in 1959 and arrived at a resolution in 1963. It was the main human spaceflight program that was embraced by the United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). From when it was first presented, to when the space crucial did, and when it had capitulated to its end, Project Mercury turned into a significant strategic left probably the best inheritance in United States history. In the commencement of Project Mercury, the legislature started a quest for seven incredible Americans who might become United Statess first space explorers. Out of the bunch of pilots who met these prerequisites, just seven were picked to become Americas first space travelers who were Alan Shepard, Gus Grissom, John Glenn, Scott Carpenter, Wally Schirra, Gordon Cooper, and Deke Slayto n. Since these flights would have been kept an eye on, NASA contracted Max Faget as the essential originator, alongside a group of architects to construct the Mercury Spacecraft. Its structure was a cone-formed one-man container with a chamber mounted on top. Two meters (6 ft, 10 in) long, 1.9 meters (6 ft, 2 1/2 in) in distance across, a 5.8 meter (19 ft, 2 in) get away from tower was secured to the chamber of the case. The dull end was secured with an ablative warmth shield to ensure it against the 3000 degree warmth of passage into the environment (Mercury Spacecraft). This plan would be the principal case that would go up into space. Venture Mercury was at long last attempted after the entirety of the seven American Astronauts were genuinely and intellectually arranged, the shuttle was constructed, and the rockets were sheltered to dispatch. Before America could send the primary human up into space, they expected to ensure that the rocket was not going to explode as it had done in dispatch tests. Specialists and researchers were endeavoring to achieve this, however a great many preliminaries, the rockets were continually exploding. He effectively had the option to finish a suborbital flight, yet as he handled, his shuttle bring forth blew open and NASA couldn't recoup the rocket. The primary American to circle the Earth was the third flight utilizing the Friendship 7 shuttle that was kept an eye on by John Glenn on February 20, 1962. He was just ready to circle the Earth multiple times because of worries about the rockets heat shield. At that point, on May 15, 1963, Gordon Cooper turned into the principal American to be in space for longer than a day and effectively circled the Earth twenty-two times utilizing the Faith 7 rocket. He was additionally the last American space traveler to be propelled into space alone. At last, Project Mercury arrived at its end making perhaps the best heritage of United States history. The general expense for Project Mercury indicated $1.6 billion in swelling balanced dollars (Program Cost). There are various inheritances that Project Mercury left to Americans. One of those inheritances is the desire of America to proceed with the space programs after President John F. Kennedy said that this country ought to subscribe to accomplishing the objective, before the decade is out, of handling a man on the moon and returning him securely to the earth (President Kennedys Challenge). Additionally, Project Mercurys most noteworthy heritage is that it was United States first fruitful human spaceflight program. Task Mercury additionally impacted writer Tom Wolfe who composed the book The Right Stuff, which was later formed into a film coordinated by Philip Kaufman. Taking everything into account, from the initiation and up to the finish of the space program, Project Mercury was a conspicuous achievement for the United States, leaving probably the best inheritance for America. It changed the round of how America would achieve its objectives of turning into the primary nation to send a space explorer to the moon. Toward the end, the seven American space travelers who were picked to be a piece of the space program will consistently be a piece of United States history and Project Mercury will keep on being the explanation behind where we are today relating to Americas propelled space program.

post-traumatic stress disorder, irritable bowel syndrome, and fibromyalgia.  (Sources: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)2.  Reduces Depression A study that involved 400 students (13-20 years old) found that students who followed an in-class mindfulness program were reported to have reduced rates of anxiety, depression, and stress after six months. In addition, the students were less likely to develo p pronounced depression-like symptoms.Another study from the University of California, comprising of people with past depression discovered that mindfulness meditation lowers ruminative thinking and dysfunctional beliefs.Elsewhere, mindfulness meditation was proven to be effective in reducing depression to a similar degree as antidepressant drug therapy.3.  Keeps Anxiety Under Control Less stress equals less anxiety. An eight-week study demonstrated that participants who practiced mindfulness meditation had significantly reduced their levels of anxiety.Other than that, it also symptoms of anxiety disorder including social anxiety, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorders, paranoid thoughts, and panic attacks.Another study caught up with 18 volunteers after three years since they completed their eight-week meditation program. Many of those volunteers were still practicing their regular meditation and had maintained lower levels of anxiety over the long-term.In an even larger study compr ising of 2,499 participants, it revealed that practicing a range of different meditation strategies may lower anxiety levels. For instance, yoga has been proven to help people reduce their anxiety, which is better awareness of your thought habits so that you may direct them toward more constructive patterns. In a study of 21 women fighting breast cancer, it was found that after taking part in a tai chi program, t heir self-esteem improved more than the ones who got social support sessions.Another study saw 40 senior men and women who, after taking a mindfulness meditation program, had reduced feelings of loneliness when compared to a group that was placed on the wait list for the program. Also, those who practice meditation may develop more creative problem-solving skills.7.  May Lower Age-Related Memory Loss You can make your mind feel young when you make improvements in attention and clarity of thinking. One meditation method to use for this is Kirtan Kriya, which combines a chant or mantra with continuous motion of the fingers to focus thoughts. It improves a person’s ability to perform memory tasks in various stages of age-related memory loss.A review of 12 studies found that several meditation styles increase memory, attention and mental quickness in older volunteers.Besides fending off normal age-related memory loss, meditation has been known to at least partially improve memory in pati ents suffering from dementia. It can even enable us to control stress as well as improve coping in those who care for family members who have dementia.8.  Improves Rapid Memory RecallCatherine Kerr of the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging and the Osher Research Centre reports that mindfulness meditation can enhance numerous mental abilities, including rapid memory recall.9.  Stretches Attention SpanFocused-attention meditation is a good exercise for your attention span in that it strengthens the capability and endurance of your attention. An eight-week mindfulness meditation course, for example, concluded that participants that improved in their ability to reorient and maintain their attention.Another study demonstrated that human resource workers who practiced mindfulness meditation on a daily basis were able to stay focused on a task for much longer. Not only that, but the workers also remembered the details of their tasks much better than those who did not practice meditation.A lso, one review confirmed that meditation could help reverse brain patterns that lead to worrying, mind-wandering and poor attention. As a matter of fact, meditating even for a little while can benefit you. A study determined that four days of meditating could be enough to increase attention span.10.  Helps You Stay Focused in Spite of Distractions A study from Emory University, Atlanta showed that participants that had more experience in meditation displayed increased connectivity within the brain networks that are responsible for controlling attention. These are the kind of neural relationships that lead to the development of cognitive skills such as maintaining consistent attention and abstaining from distractions. What’s more is that these benefits were also observed in a regular state of consciousness during the day. This meditation practice that was examined was focused on breathing.11.  Can Produce Feelings of Kindness Some methods of meditation can bring out positive feelings and actions towards both yourself and others.Metta, also known as the loving-kindness meditation, starts with making kind thoughts and feelings toward yourself. With practice, people will be able to transfer feelings of kindness and forgiveness to others around them, first to their friends, then acquaintances and then finally, their own enemies. There are 22 studies of this type of meditation that have showcased its ability to enhance people’s compassion towards themselves and also on to others.Another study of 100 adults that were randomly assigned to a loving-kindness meditation program found that those benefits were dose-dependent.To be frank, the more effort people put into Metta meditation, the more positive feelings they experienced.A group of studies demonstrated that the positive feelings people generate when they practice Metta meditation reduces their marriage conflict, improves social anxiety and help them manage their anger. These benefits may also come around eventually to those who practice loving-kindness meditation.12.  Increase Grey Matter Concentration in the BrainAn experiment conducted by a group of Harvard neuroscientists where 16 participants were put into an eight-week mindfulness course, using guided meditations and an integration of mindfulness into everyday activities. At the end of the course, MRI scans showed that the grey matter concentration increased in areas of the brain that involved memory and learning, sense of self, regulating emotions, and having perspective.Other studies a larger frontal and hippocampal volumes of grey matter for those who have been a long-term meditation practice.13.  Could Help Prevent Addictions As you continue to meditate, you will develop a mental discipline that might help you break your dependencies toward addictive behaviors by increasing your self-control and awareness of triggers for such behaviors.Various research has shown that meditation might help people increase their willpower, redirect their attention, control their emotions and impulses as well as boost their understanding of the causes behind their addictive behaviors.A study in which 19 recovering alcoholics learned how to meditate found that they were able to control their cravings better as well as craving-related stress.Meditation can also help you manage food cravings.A review of 14 studies documented that mindfulness meditation helped people reduce binge and emotional eating.14.  Help You Control Pain Our understanding of pain is connected to our state of mind and it can go up in stressful situations. One study, in particular, used functional MRI techniques to monitor brain activity in participants who experienced a painful stimulus. Some of those participants had gone through four days of mindfulness meditations training and others did not.In the results, the meditating patients showed an increase in the activity of brain centers that are known to control pain. The patients also reported being less sensitive to pain.A larger study involving 3,500 patients concluded that meditation was associated with lesser complaints of intermittent or chronic pain.Another study that saw patients with terminal diseases had experienced that meditation could help reduce chronic pain at the end of life.In each one of those scenarios, both meditators and non-meditators had experienced the same causes of pain, but the former demonstrated a greater ability to cope with pain and had also experienced a lesser sensation of pain.15.  Improves Information-Processing and Decision-MakingEileen Luders, who is an assistant professor at the UCLA Laboratory of Neuro Imaging as well as her colleagues, found that long-term meditators accumulate larger quantities of gyrification (known as “folding” of the cortex, that enables the brain to process information faster) than those who do not  meditate.Scientists have deduced that gyrification is what helps the brain improve at processing information, form memories, make deci sions and improve attention.16.  Decrease Blood Pressure Meditation also benefits the human body physically by reducing heart strain.Usually, high blood pressure makes it harder for the heart to pump blood over time, which is what leads to a poor heart condition. If left untreated, high blood pressure can lead to atherosclerosis, otherwise known as narrowing of the arteries, which results in heart attacks or strokes.A study involving 996 volunteers showed that when they meditated by concentrating on a “silent mantra” which is a repeated, non-vocalized word decreased blood pressure by about five points, on average. This is more effective among older volunteers as well as those who had a higher blood pressure before the study. One review stated that several types of meditation led to similar improvements in blood pressure.Meditation, in part, also appears to control blood pressure by relaxing the nerve muscles that direct heart function, tension in blood vessels and also the “fig ht-or-flight” response that elevates alertness in stressful situations.17.  Fosters CreativityResearch from Leiden University (Netherlands) showed that practicing “open monitoring” meditation (which is monitoring the content of experience from moment-to-moment, non-reactively) has positive effects in divergent thinking and creativity. Those who practiced this method displayed a better performance in a task where they were told to come up with new ideas in a creative manner.18.  Reduces the Risk of Heart Disease and Stroke More people have been reported to die from heart diseases on earth than any other diseases. According to a study that was published in late 2012, a group of 200 high-risk individuals was asked to choose between a health education class that promoted better exercise and diet or take a class on Transcendental Meditation.Over the next five years, researchers who were accompanying the participants found a 48% reduction in the overall risk of heart attack, stroke, and death in those who took the meditation class. The researchers had noted that meditation significantly reduced risks for myocardial infarction, mortality, and stroke in coronary heart disease patients. These changes were linked with lower blood pressure and psychosocial stress factors.19.  Reduces Inflammatory DisordersIn a study that was conducted in Spain and France at the UW-Madison Waisman Center, it says that practicing mindfulness meditation results in a range of molecular and genetic effects on participants. The meditators also showed reduced levels of pro-inflammatory genes, which also correlated with faster physical recovery from a stressful situation.20.  Prevents Asthma, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Inflammatory Bowel DiseaseA research conducted by neuroscientists of the University of Wisconsin-Madison consisted of two groups of people who were exposed to different methods of stress control. One of the groups received training in mindfulness meditation, while the other receiv ed nutritional, music therapy and exercise. In conclusion, it was revealed that mindfulness meditation techniques were more effective in relieving inflammatory symptoms than other methods that promoted well-being.21.  May Help Treat HIV Believe it or not, some meditation techniques can help prevent the development of HIV-AIDs.Lymphocytes, or the CD4 T cells in simpler terms, are what coordinate the activity of the immune system when our body comes under attack. These also happen to be the very cells that are attacked by the devastating HIV that causes AIDS and has affected over 40 million people from around the world. The virus is known for eating our CD4 T cells, which subsequently weakens our immune system.David Creswell, a research scientist at the Cousins Center for Psychoneuroimmunology at UCLA and his colleagues ran an eight-week mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) meditation program and had compared it to a one-day MBSR control seminar, using an ethnically diverse and stre ssed sample of 48 HIV-positive adults in Los Angeles. Those who participated in this program showed no loss in CD4 T cells, concluding the fact that mindfulness meditation can prevent the weakening of our immune system and prevent the contraction of HIV.22.  It Can Help You Live LongerTelomeres are the cells that are responsible for a human being’s aging process.Even though research is not yet conclusive, there is some data that may suggest that some forms of medication have salutary effects on telomere length, which is done by reducing cognitive stress and stress arousal and increasing positive states of mind and hormonal factors that may promote telomere maintenance.

The important part is to look into the behind the scenes aspect of fashion and the cultural and social integration into the fashion industry. By looking deeper into the subject I have concluded that fashion is influenced by the happenings of a certain time period. Each time period has its own definitive style which is brought out through fashion. It can be concluded that social and cultural influences are the driving force behind fashion and how it is portrayed in each decade. How Freedom of Religion Cultivates American Innovation Free Essays

How Freedom of Religion Cultivates American Innovation In the annals of American history, religion takes up volumes. The framers used Judeo-Christian values as a cornerstone to create democracy in the nation. Manifest Destiny, a concept coined by William Jennings Bryan, explains that it was the people’s God-given right to populate the continent and reign from the east to west coast. We will write a custom essay sample on How Freedom of Religion Cultivates American Innovation or any similar topic only for you Order Now Before the Civil War, among thousands of individuals, preachers and followers of the protestant faith were the largest faction in America to assist slaves in escaping plantations (Ogden, 61). So why did the Founding Fathers not limit the exercise of other religions in their writing of the Constitution? For the same reason most religions hold their faiths as truth. Individuals find security in religion and religion shapes who they become. Hundreds of cultures throughout the world leave everything including their health up to the God who manages them. Others believe in consulting a higher power in order to attain individual success. It is important that the state not cross the lines of religious freedom unless religious expression harms the rights of others – in the case of polygamy or human sacrifice. The framers allowed religion in the Bill of Rights to inspire every individual to pursue themselves and become the realization of their thoughts and beliefs. America’s reputation grew from religious freedom. When the founding fathers came up with a document stating the rights of an American, they hoped they wouldn’t be the only ones to create a new idea. Therefore they allowed room for individual expression. An individual should create his idea of himself and that drive came to most people through religion. Religious freedom guided the Puritans to develop the first university in America, Harvard. It was founded by ministers who realized the need for a clergy in a growing population. It became the nucleus of theological teaching in New England by 1827 and gave America its first philosopher John Calvin, the creator of Calvinism and harbinger of the First Great Awakening. Today, Harvard is in the ranks of the highest achieving universities in the world. Although it started out as a seminary with nine graduates, today Harvard’s 360,000 living alumni span 190 countries. Religious freedom allowed the Protestants to lead their country to greatness. The First Amendment is not only expressed through education. American businesses also practice certain religious aspects. Famous restaurants one would not suspect exercise the power to practice Christianity. In-N-Out Burger, a popular Western fast food franchise will inconspicuously print Bible verses on cups per customer request. Wendy’s owner Dave Thomas was quoted, saying, â€Å"You can be anything you want to be within the law of God and Man†. His success demonstrates how prosperous a Christian owned business can be when coupled with strong beliefs. Finally, Quaker Cadbury Adams from Parsippany, New Jersey established â€Å"Cadbury†, the 2nd largest producer of chocolate and drinks in the world. It purports a net income of $700 million a year (Forbes 2012). Clearly, business in America has benefited from diversity. However, it is important that Americans keep religious freedom in perspective. Religious freedom should not influence two entities to battle between the validity of their party’s beliefs. Darwin’s Theory of Evolution and Galileo’s heliocentric model of the universe are two examples in which Christianity has been tested. In the 1600’s, Catholics believed Galileo’s ideas were blasphemy. His theory that earth was not the only planet, much less the center of the universe, rocked the Church’s platform. Because he did not live in a democratic nation, his government put him under house arrest, all but silencing his discovery. However, Galileo’s theory was in fact only an explanation of the natural world. Although science and religion serve two different purposes, the Church took Galileo’s observation on nature as an attack on Christianity and locked him up. Today, Americans view the Church’s treatment as unjustified. Four hundred years and successful flights to the moon later, it is difficult to argue that the Church was correct in its attack on Galileo. From the perspective of a country with the First Amendment right, it seems unimaginable. However, today’s churches now test religious freedom. Under the protection of the Bill of Rights, Evangelical Christian D. James Kennedy has prosecuted Darwin’s Theory of Evolution. He believes evolution is, â€Å"a dangerous opinion that deems God’s judgment on Earth† (Kennedy 183) and has many dogmatic followers. He believes public schools should not teach evolution because it conflicts with Creationism. However, by law action taken on Kenney’s part infringes on the rights of others. His Christian agenda supersedes the beliefs of other faiths, such as Hinduism, Islamism, or Judaism, which contradicts freedom of expression. If Darwinism was kept from being taught in public schools, the government would be ignoring the rights of other faiths. Darwinism is taught in school is because his views are seen as science. Science deals with natural explanations about the world (Coriden 12). If science were to have a metaphysical stance involving supernatural explanations for the universe, it would cease to be a worthwhile pursuit. The explanation for a question would become too simple and deferred to God or another supernatural being. That understood, science is unable to disprove religion by fact and religion cannot disprove science by belief. A connection between the two would seem to be a non sequitur. Truly, neither harms the other. In fact, the opposite may be endorsed. The more discoveries science makes, the more difficult it makes man’s purpose to explain. People will turn to religion for comfort because usually a combination of the natural and supernatural will mold an individual’s sense of reality. Thankfully, America is a country where one can chose how much to believe in the natural and supernatural. The First Amendment puts no belief system ahead of another. The Founding Fathers believed in order to avoid religious persecution, that they must create a nation open to every ideology. As they intended, the United States flourished under the principles of equality. Today, the United States Constitution is used as reference for countries constructing a democratic nation because of the success and freedom Americans enjoy. Although the democratic system is not flawless, it opens the road to individual achievement that does not exist in all countries by allowing religious freedom and the freedom of expression. Genesis of Business Model Canvas

Question: Write an essay on Genesis of business model canvas. Answer: Genesis of business model canvas The need for a canvas like framework arose when teaching students with no business knowledge. The need then arose that there should be a framework which gives detail on pre-business planning and ways of concept development. After many iterations, business model canvas came into being after the efforts of Osterwalder. He felt that when Company needs to optimize its activities, having a particular business model is important. It provides a systematic path to launch a new venture. It is necessary to examine all alternatives and their implication thoroughly before pursuing any path. To avoid making guesses and uncertainty in the work process, the business model canvas is the key to implementing strategic business plans. Therefore business model canvas was proposed to compare and contrast plans and determine which the best plan to carry forward is. It allows both a novice entrepreneur and an experienced investor to grab business opportunity within a short period (Sarma Sun, 2016, January ). Unique features of the approach of the Business Model Canvas Osterwalders business model concept features nine building blocks such as value proposition, key resources, key activities, partner network, channels, customer segment and relationship, cost structure and revenue streams. The model describes the proposed channels of distribution of products and services, their value proposition in terms of services offered and their unique advantage. It reveals the key activities for executing value proposition and the network of partners in the particular organization. The canvas gives detail on the target market, type of relationship they want to maintain with customers and the overall cost and expense structure. It also specifies the way a firm will determine its pricing and profit. It is an appropriate framework for developing, documenting and evaluating business plans (Gronum et al., 2015). Comparison with another business model Apart from Osterwalders business canvas, there are other business model frameworks such as Zachman, Porters Value Chain, Microsofts motion and IBMs component business model (Leschke, 2013). The nine building blocks of Osterwalder has been mentioned above. The value chain is dependent on activities like planning, governance, and execution. Though different in approaches, all framework leads to the same goal. The difference lies in the area covered for the functioning of the framework. Some may apply for the whole enterprise while some may just be beneficial for execution part. Other important features in business model map components include entrepreneurial fit, product alternative, and industrial environment (Michelini Fiorentino, 2012). Benefits or limitations of using Osterwalders business model Considering the case of oil industry, the BMC helps to visualise the whole picture of the business and helps to spot the strength and weakness. It offers an opportunity to plan, verify, and iterate. It helps to test the hypothesis and validate with the customers. It gives factors related to products and under ones control. All the business elements revolve around BMC. However, it ignores the strategic purpose of the oil industry and excludes the concept of competition. It is difficult to get the practical experience of manufacturing process. All its nine elements cannot be defined that as some parts are more highlighted than others and priorities cannot be set. The model fails to give the environmental impact of oil industry (Weiller Neely, 2013). Reference Gronum, S., Steen, J., Verreynne, M. L. (2015). Computer Science Government Intervention Of The Internet During The Pa

Computer Science Government Intervention of the Internet During the past decade, our society has become based solely on the ability to move large amounts of information across large distances quickly. Computerization has influenced everyone's life. The natural evolution of computers and this need for ultra-fast communications has caused a global network of interconnected computers to develop. This global net allows a person to send E-mail across the world in mere fractions of a second, and enables even the common person to access information world-wide. With advances such as software that allows users with a sound card to use the Internet as a carrier for long distance voice calls and video conferencing, this network is key to the future of the knowledge society. At present, this net is the epitome of the first amendment: free speech. It is a place where people can speak their mind without being reprimanded for what they say, or how they choose to say it. The key to the world-wide s uccess of the Internet is its protection of free speech, not only in America, but in other countries where free speech is not protected by a constitution. To be found on the Internet is a huge collection of obscene graphics, Anarchists' cookbooks and countless other things that offend some people. With over 30 million Internet users in the U.S. alone (only 3 million of which surf the net from home), everything is bound to offend someone. The newest wave of laws floating through law making bodies around the world threatens to stifle this area of spontaneity. Recently, Congress has been considering passing laws that will make it a crime punishable by jail to send "vulgar" language over the net, and to export encryption software. No matter how small, any attempt at government intervention in the Internet will stifle the greatest communication innovation of this century. The government wants to maintain control over this new form of communication, and they are trying to use the protecti on of children as a smoke screen to pass laws that will allow them to regulate and censor the Internet, while banning techniques that could eliminate the need for regulation. Censorship of the Internet threatens to destroy its freelance atmosphere, while wide spread encryption could help prevent the need for government intervention. The current body of laws existing today in America does not apply well to the Internet. Is the Internet like a bookstore, where servers cannot be expected to review every title? Is it like a phone company who must ignore what it carries because of privacy? Is it like a broadcasting medium, where the government monitors what is broadcast? The trouble is that the Internet can be all or none of these things depending on how it's used. The Internet cannot be viewed as one type of transfer medium under current broadcast definitions. The Internet differs from broadcasting media in that one cannot just happen upon a vulgar site without first entering a compli cated address, or following a link from another source. "The Internet is much more like going into a book store and choosing to look at adult magazines." (Miller 75). Jim Exon, a democratic senator from Nebraska, wants to pass a decency bill regulating the Internet. If the bill passes, certain commercial servers that post pictures of unclad beings, like those run by Penthouse or Playboy, would of course be shut down immediately or risk prosecution. The same goes for any amateur web site that features nudity, sex talk, or rough language. Posting any dirty words in a Usenet discussion group, which occurs routinely, could make one liable for a $50,000 fine and six months in jail. Even worse, if a magazine that commonly runs some of those nasty words in its pages, The New Yorker for instance, decided to post its contents on-line, its leaders would be held responsible for a $100,000 fine and two years in jail. Why does it suddenly become illegal to post something that has been legal for years in print? Exon's bill apparently would also "criminalize private mail," ... "I can call my brother on the phone and say anything--but if I say it on the Internet, it's illegal" (Levy 53). Congress, in

Management of the Future essays

Management of the Future essays Probably the one word most affecting the future of management is "technology." Clearly, technology and its many uses will drastically affect how managers communicate, plan, organize, lead, and control their organizations. As one expert notes, "Management and technology are entwined in one view, as most business processes have a technology connection, augmenting tool, or are inherently based on the technology" (Damiano, 2003). Many of the everyday functions of management may become automated, freeing up the manager for more complex organizational tasks, including planning and organizing a global workforce. In addition, many managers of the future may have traits that are far different from the There is quite a difference between management and leadership, although most effective and successful managers are also excellent leaders and motivators. Management entails the planning, organizing, leading, and controlling of the organization or a part of the organization. This includes planning for the future, organizing and controlling staff and production, and leading the staff forward through change and new technologies. Management is concerned with the day-to-day operations and success of the organization, while leadership is concerned with the overall success of the organization and its staff. Leadership leads the company forward, while management makes sure everyone can keep up with the leaders' demands and vision. Good leaders are not afraid to hire and mentor strong managers, and good leaders can motivate their staff to become more productive, innovative, and futuristic. Confucianism - Essay Example In fact, the Five Great Relationships are five fundamentals of noble behavior (Phatak, 2011). The first one is a good attitude of a father to a son, and the respectful attitude of a son to a father. The second rule of the Great Relationships lies in a gentle attitude of an elder brother to younger ones and respect of younger children to an elder brother. The third relationship manifests itself in a righteous treatment of a wife by her husband and wife’s obedience to him. The forth important doctrine of moral relations between people reflects in a humane attitude of older people to younger ones and respectful attitude of younger men to older people. And finally the fifth principle of morality is a generous attitude of rulers to ministers and citizens and respective loyalty of ministers and citizens to their rulers. It is obvious that Confucius has seen relations between people themselves as the highest form and main basis of successful intercourse of state rulers and average ci tizens, since men, as they are presented by nature without any statuses and social positions, serve as a premier source of morality provided by their constant development of ethical principles of life. In practice, Confucius has believed that there is a particular power in the Universe helping people to follow these rules of relationships. It can unite everybody regardless their high or low social positions in their understanding of each other, which directly leads to democratic regulation of relations. Consequently, harmony settles in every possible sphere of people’s being, for there is no place for quarrels, strife, wars, and any other conflicts in family, community and country at all. Continuing the concept of people’s moral development, Confucianism proclaims the idea of the junzi or the Ideal Person. â€Å"This idea of a model man or an ideal gentleman is a very important

The Purposes Of Different Types Of Organisations Commerce Essay

The Purposes Of Different Types Of Organisations Commerce Essay An organisation is a formal structure of relationships, responsibilities and authorities through which specific objectives are achieved. A work organisation is a social arrangement for the controlled performance of collective goals (Buchanan and Huczynski, 2004). Purposes of different types of Organisation: Business organisations: To make a profit in a socially standard way. For example: Airlines, Fast food. Non-profit service organisations: They want to help to all of people without any profit. For example: NHS, Universities. Mutual-benefit organisations: Individuals join together to pursue their own self-interest. For example: Clubs, Trade Union. Commonweal organisations: They provide service to all members of a given population. For example: Fire Service, Police. Public sector organisations: A public sector organisation is one that is controlled by the government. It is called public because the government is responsible to the entire public. Commercial interest classification: Profit oriented: Profit-oriented means pricing strategies rely on setting a product or services price to attain a specific, programmed net profit percentage. Non-profit oriented: In the broadest sense, an organisation in which no part of any net earnings can grow for the benefit of any private shareholder or individual. Size oriented classification: Large scale: To access the large-scale data sources efficiently and automatically, it is necessary to classify these data sources into different domains and categories. Medium scale: The demands on an intensely-managed landscape need a regional landscape planning system, which balances the social economic needs with geo-biological conditions. Small scale: Title for firms of a certain size which fall below certain criteria in terms of annual income, number of employees, total value of assets. Formal and Informal Organization: The Formal organization is- Deliberately planned and created. Concerned with the co-ordination of activities, Hierarchically structured with stated objectives, the specification of tasks and defined relationships of authority and responsibility. The Informal organisation is- Is flexible and loosely structured, Relationships may be left undefined, Membership is spontaneous and with varying degrees of involvement. Describe the extent to which an organisation meets the objectives of different stakeholders. [P2] Stakeholders: A shareholder is a  stakeholder  simply because he or she has spent money in a company. Therefore, those people remain for to see a good return on the investment. This may not only consist of the value of the stock increasing over time, but it may also include getting periodical dividend payments based on profitability. Organisational objectives: Objectives are defined as specific commitment to complete a measurable result within a given time frame. Importance of objectives: Targets, Measuring sticks, Commitment and Motivation. Characteristics of objectives: Organisational purpose and aims, Be realistic, Be measurable, Preferably be set by agreement, Set clear and challenging targets, Be open to adaptation, Form a network. Objectives of different Stakeholders: Owners: In a company it would be the shareholders. Owners are often thought to be the most important stakeholders because they have set up the business and give a lot of time into the company to make it successful. Owners like to see their share of profit increasing, and the value of their business increasing. Customers: Customers want superiority for money which involves providing the highest quality products at rival prices. Employees: Their stake is that the company provides them with am livelihood. They want security of employments, good rates of reward and also improvement opportunities. Suppliers: They want to feel valued by the company and want frequent orders with on time payments. Trade Unions: This is for groups of employees who seek to secure higher wages and better working conditions for their members. Governments: The government wants businesses to become successful, to create jobs and to pay taxes. Inducements and contribution of inside stakeholders: Stakeholders Contribution of the organisation Inducement to contribute Shareholders Money capital Dividends Managers Skills expertise Salaries, bonuses, status power Workforce Skills expertise Wages, bonuses, stable employment promotion Inducements contributions of outside stakeholders: Stakeholder Contribution to the organization Inducement to contribute Customers Revenue from purchase of goods and services Quality and price of goods and services Government High quality inputs Revenue from purchase of inputs Unions Free and fair collective bargaining Equitable share of inducements Community Social and economic infrastructure Revenue, taxes and employment General public Customer loyalty and reputation National pride Explain the responsibilities of an organisation and strategies employed to meet them. [P3] Responsibilities of an Organisation: Responsibilities are the most important thing in this topic. Because of an organisation have a plan. So, to success plan, they must be maintaining some responsibilities. The main aim of the research is to give a formal analysis of the relations between collective obligations to individual responsibilities. Which individual agent in a group should be held responsible if an obligation directed to the whole group is not fulfilled? To this aim, concepts from planning fiction (like plan and task allocation) and organization theory are used in order to conceptualize collective agency and the organizational structures. These concepts are formalized in a dynamic demonic logic framework, which allows us to study the connections between all these concepts. I give a formal account of the notion of coordination, power and controls intended as management of interdependencies among agents activities and show how these organizational relations together with specific task breakdown determine the responsibilities within an organization. For example: CSR (Corporate social responsibility) is an organizations moral responsibility to stakeholder groups that are affected directly or indirectly by the organizations actions. An organization can adopt a narrow or a broad stance on social responsibility. Strategies: Once clear targets have been identified, a set of strategies must be decided on to further the organisations efforts. Strategies are defined here as specific programs, initiatives, and decisions which will require resources allocated to them. They can range from the development of Strategies alliances to developing and conveyance special in-house training for customer service. These operating Strategies are usually very special given that the good plans are very clear and focused. Frequently, there may be some Strategies that are critical and yet dont get openly shared, particularly since they may be really sensitive and general knowledge of them would put you at a competitive weakness. The Strategies document the approach that will be used to meet the performance goals. They are generated by middle management and approved by top management. Every effort should be made to keep the Strategies up to date, without making major changes. Major change can also result in the termination of projects that are only partially completed and/or have not become totally effective. It should be apparent that many Strategies are generated by many different functions, supporting the business objectives. Explain how economic systems attempt to allocate resources effectively. [P4] Economics: Economic is a social science that studies human behaviour as a relationship between ends and scarce means which have alternative uses. That is, economic is the study of the trade-offs involved when choosing between alternate sets of decisions. (Lionel Robbins, 1935) The purpose of economic activity: It is openly said that the central purpose of economic activity is the production of goods and service to satisfy consumers needs want i.e. to meet people need for consumption both as a means of survival but also to meet their ever-growing demand for an improved lifestyle or standard of living. What goods and service to produce: Does the economic uses its resources to operate more hospitals or hotels? Do we make ipod Nanos or produce more coffee? How best to produce goods and service: What is the best use of our scarce resources of land labour and capital? Should school playing fields be sold off to provide more land for affordable housing? Who is to receive goods and service: What is the best method of distributing products or ensure the highest level of wants and needs are met? Who will get expensive hospital treatment-and who not? Economic Systems: An economic system is best described as a network of organisations used by a society to resolve the basic problem of what, how and for whom to produce. C:UsersKaisar HamidDesktopeconomicsystem.gif Categories of economic system: Traditional Economy: Where decision about what, how and for whom to produce are based on custom and tradition. Free market economy: Where households own resources and free markets allocate resources through the workings of the price mechanism. Planned or command economy:   In a planned or command system typically associated with a socialist or communist economic system. Mixed economy: In a mixed economy, some resources are owned by the public sector (government) and some resources are owned by the private sector. Sectors of production in the economy: Primary sector: This involves extraction of natural resources e.g. agriculture, forestry, fishing, quarrying, and mining. Secondary sector: This involves the production of goods in the economy, i.e. transforming materials produced by the primary sector e.g. manufacturing and the construction industry. Tertiary sector: the tertiary sector provided services such as banking, finance, insurance, retail, education and travel and tourism. Quaternary sector: The quaternary sector is involved with information processing e.g. education, research and development. Meaning of economic scarcity: Scarcity is the fundamental economic problem, in a world of limited resources. Society has insufficient productive resources to fulfil all human wants and needs. For example: Flowers such as tulips are scarce on occasion because they grow only at certain time of the year. When they supply of tulips is lower, they are scarce, or not always available. If enough people want tulips when none are available, then the demand increases. And this demand is high not because the price is high but because the supply is low. Criteria for Allocation: Appropriate means of resource allocation are necessary to achieve optimal allocation of the resource. There are several criteria used to compare of water allocation @owe aelt, 1986. Flexibility in the allocation of existing supplies, so that resource can be shifted from use to use, place, as demand change, thus allowing equating marginal values over many uses. Predictability of the allocation process, so that uncertainty (especially for transaction costs) is minimized. Equity of the allocation process should be perceived by the prospective users, providing equal opportunity gains from the resource to every potential user. Political and public acceptability, so that the allocation serves values and objectives of various segments in society. Allocate resources effectively: The business plan plays a key role in allocating resources throughout a business so that the objectives set in the plan can be met. Once you have reviewed our progress to date and identified our strategy for growth, our existing business plan may look dated and may no longer reflect our business position and future direction. When we are reviewing our business plan to cover the next stages, its important to be clear on how we will allocate our resources to make our strategy work. The allocation of scare resources: Allocation of scarce resources is a reality for health care professionals and organizations. Resource allocation issues can be particularly challenging for rural communities, where resources are not enough to meet all needs and fewer alternatives exist to resolve conflicts between competing needs. Flexibility Security Real opportunity cost Predictability Equity Political and public acceptability Assess the impact of fiscal and monetary policy on business organisations and their activities. [P5] Fiscal policy: Fiscal policy is the means by which a government adjusts its levels of spending in order to monitor and influence a nations economy. It is the sister strategy to monetary policy with which a central bank influences a nations money supply. These two policies are used in various combinations in an effort to direct a countrys economic goals. How Fiscal policy works? Objectives of fiscal policy: To fund government spending To redistribute income and wealth more evenly A way of managing demand in the economy To influence the supply side of the economy To correct the negative externalities, such as pollution and passive smoking Effects of fiscal policy: Taxation and work incentives Taxation and pattern of demand Taxation and productivity Taxation and business investment decision What is monetary policy? The Federal Reserves actions that are designed to influence the availability cost of money. Such as changing the discount rate, altering bank reserve requirements, and conducting open market operations. In general, a policy to restrict monetary growth results in tightened credit conditions and, at least temporarily, higher rates of interest. Impact of monetary policy: Control inflation: The control of inflation has become one of the dominant objectives of government economic policy in many countries. Interest rates: The price of money. Interest is what you pay when you borrow money and what you are paid when you lend your money to someone else, like a bank. Business cycles: The term business cycle refers to economy-wide fluctuations in production or economic activity over a number of months or years. Spending: Money that has actually left the governments bank account and entered the economy. Employment: The act of giving someone a job. Fiscal Monetary policys activities: The role of government in the UK economy extends far beyond its activities as a regulator of specific industries. The government also manages the overall pace of economic activity, seeking to maintain high levels of employment and stable prices. It has two main tools for achieving these objectives: fiscal policy, through which it determines the appropriate level of taxes and spending; and monetary policy, through which it manages the supply of money. Evaluate the impact of competition policy and other regulatory mechanisms on the activities of a selected organisation. [P6]

The Morning Of The Dolphins :: essays research papers

Taryn awoke to the buzzing of the alarm beside her bed. As her eyes adjusted to the morning light, she saw the tacky flowered wallpaper and smelled that smell of a room that had been cleaned thousands of times with the same Lysol cleaner. At first she couldn’t recollect where she was. After a few moments, Taryn remembered, she was at the Seaside Hotel. Her mother, father, and she had arrived at the little lived in hotel the night before after a 4-hour plane ride from Connecticut. Taryn loved Florida. She loved the heat, the sun, and, most of all, the ocean. The sound of Taryn’s mother’s voice brought her out of her sleepiness. â€Å"Taryn! For god’s sake, get up. You are on vacation, a good child would definitely be up and showered and ready to go by now,† Taryn sighed at this remark. All through her child hood she had listened to that same phrase â€Å"a good child would†¦Ã¢â‚¬ It was just one of her mother’s ways to get her motivated, but it never worked. â€Å"I’m going, I’m going. What is the rush anyway? I thought dad said we weren’t doing anything special, we were just going to be spontaneous today?† Taryn replied with a smirk. Her father always tried to make their family vacations more exciting, but it NEVER worked out. â€Å"You’ll see.† Her mother said, with one of her own little smirks. â€Å"Now get out of bed!!!† With a melodramatic sigh Taryn rolled over the side of the bed and drudged into the bathroom for a shower. She wondered to herself what her mom was up to. It was probably nothing, as usual. Taryn shoved the idea out of her mind and finished her shower and changed. Her dad walked into the hotel room as Taryn was brushing her long brown hair. â€Å"You ready yet kid?† he asked. He had a look on his face like he was up to something. â€Å"Okay! Tell me what is going on!† she shrieked with impatience. â€Å"Just get in the car and enjoy the ride,† he said, the look growing stronger. Taryn eagerly but cautiously obliged, throwing looks of curiosity at her father as they walked down the hall and got into the car. Her mother was already waiting, doing her makeup in the visor mirror. Taryn received another mischievous glance from her mother as she buckled her seatbelt. They drove for about 15 minutes, looking out at the glistening gulf water. The Morning Of The Dolphins :: essays research papers Taryn awoke to the buzzing of the alarm beside her bed. Persuasive speech – We are in this room today, as children, to reflect on a sad trut

We are in this room today, as children, to reflect on a sad truth. We have, today, been to several classes. Indeed, this is our weekly routine: school. Many of you dislike school but have you ever considered how lucky you are ? For instance, many children around the world are not as privileged as we are. According to the UNICEF, an estimated 250 million children in the world are in regular employment or as it is commonly referred to, suffer from the worst form of child labour At the moment, at the very same time as you and I are in this classroom, children in Soudan are working in coal mines are crawling in small tunnels which could collapse at any moment, causing death or serious injuries to the young miners. At the moment, girls in India are making bricks in the 40 degrees heat for house and are carrying them on their backs for up to as 10 miles to their destination. Also, at this same moment, children in Thailand are working in factories doing the same repetitive and tedious job all day long while dreaming of having the privilege to be educated. We are here today to fight against the worst form of child labour. Our opposite party might say that the role of children in child labour is essential to a family's economy. Many people in favor of child labour say that without children helping their parents in farms for example, the family will not be able to harvest the food in time resulting in starvation in wintertime and possible death. Those in favour of child labour ask us: as we protest against child labour, do we realize that millions of families would die of starvation ? This is why, those against child labour now fight against the worst forms of child labour. I believe that children should have the right to go to school and be properly educated. Don't you ? I believe that children should have the right to stop working when their work is unnecessary to their family's welfare. Don't you agree ? As one observer says: â€Å"We worry about what a child will become tomorrow , yet we forget that he or she is someone today.† I believe that childhood is one of the most important stage of life. It is a time that is precious, a child should grow up in innocence and should not be working. Someone once said: † All things are difficult before they are easy.† Yes, stopping the worst form of child labour will be difficult at first but with your help, we can make a difference ! I personally believe that a person with hope and courage can change the world ! Martin Luther King said: † All labour that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence.†Our work to stop child labour will and can uplift humanity and change the lives of millions of children who work in the most horrific conditions. I believe that, together; we can change the world. But to do so, we will need help. We will need help to free the millions of children who suffer from the worst form of child labour. So join us, today, in the struggle to stop child labour !
